A Look Back at TS-19 (TWD Epx106)

A Look Back at TS-19 (TWD Epx106)

BG Blogger takes a look back at the sixth episode of The Walking Dead

Well, we’ve reached the Season 1 finale with my TWD flashback series. TS-19 is an episode I’ve written about previously in my piece on the finales from the series. Let’s dig into the episode, shall we?

Favorite Lines

The entire cast gives an amazing performance in TS-19, but a few lines stand out to me:

106 9

106 13

106 10

And then of course there’s the most important line–the one that we don’t even get to hear:

106 11

Favorite Moments

I really love the quiet moments in TS-19. From the reactions of everyone to hearing Jenner say:

106 1

to the lightheartedness around the dinner table complete with Carl’s first taste of wine

106 2

to the way that the various mindsets of the characters are perfectly shown in the shower scenes from T-Dog and Lori’s simple joy at being under the hot water

106 4 2 106 4 3

to Shane and Andrea who are both facing their demons

106 4 4 106 4

I also always laugh when Carol digs that grenade out of her purse:

106 13 1 106 13 2

Even back then, she was full of surprises!

Favorite Shots

106 14

I love the quiet way that Jacqui and Jenner go out. A beautiful shot from a great episode.

Random Somethings

This was the first time that I ever notice that right after Jenner says “opted out” the scene flashes to Jacqui:

106 3

Also, I really thought about this exchange for the first time with this watch:

106 6

It occurs to me now that Jenner might have been hoping one of them wasn’t affected and therefore immune. Rick, of course, took it to mean they were all fine, which I think many of us did on the first watch through.

In this episode, we lost Jacqui and Dr. Jenner. I think of all the deaths in the season, Jacqui’s is the most disappointing to me. It would have been interesting to see her outspoken, strong character to develop.

So there’s my look back at Episode 106! Now it’s your turn to tell me what you remember, love, hate or wonder about the episode. Let me know in the “Comments” section or tweet me!
