How’s everyone doing? Hanging in there? Well, let’s take our minds off of our recent losses from The Walking Dead premiere, and look ahead to next week where we are going to meet a character I am extremely excited about… King Ezekial and his pet tiger, Shiva.

Since last season when we first heard the name Negan, I knew that we were getting closer to meeting this iconic character from the graphic novels. The pair are two of my favorites and will be a welcome distraction from the events of the premiere.

This story is a deviation from the comics due to the presence of Morgan and Carol being there, but for me personally that adds a new element that has potential to bring a lot to their individual arcs, as well as the one that they have together started the day the wolves arrived.

We will also get a closer look at the where the Saviors call home and what becomes of Daryl Dixon. Last we saw him he was being thrown back into the van still bleeding from the gunshot and reeling from the death of his two friends. I know a lot of people blame Daryl for Glenn’s death, but I am still scared for what lies in store for him. Daryl is related to Merle after all, and we all know that keeping your temper in check wasn’t a strong suit among those Dixon men, so I can’t blame him for lashing out against Negan.

Who is Dwight and Why He’s Important

A trip to the Negan’s compound is also a closer look at Dwight and an explanation as to how he ends up with Daryl’s iconic winged vest. Even if you don’t follow the comics, there’s a good chance that you know that Daryl doesn’t exist and Dwight is an integral part of what’s to come in the future.

I would like to think that at some point Dwight will remember that Daryl tried to help him in the beginning, even after they took him hostage. Does he have the resolve to try and cross Negan again?

There’s lots more to come in the season ahead. Hopefully it won’t be as rough as the premiere was. I really can’t imagine anything being that devastating… then again, our show is run by Kirkman.
