Episode Preview: The Walking Dead 7×11 ‘Hostiles and Calamities’

On the next episode of The Walking Dead, we will catch up with Eugene and his precarious situation as property of Negan and the Saviors. We know that the Saviors now know that Daryl is M.I.A., so my concern lies with Eugene and I am hoping against hope that Negan doesn’t take his anger over Daryl missing out on our favorite mullet man. Even though Eugene has proved himself since those early days of claiming to be a scientist, I highly doubt that he’ll be able to deal with being naked in a cell eating dog food and listening to Easy Street.

I have faith in Eugene. Even though he will be pretty damn scared, I have no doubt that he will somehow, someway make this work for not only him, but for Rick. If Negan truly understand’s Eugene’s value, maybe he won’t be cannon fodder for Daryl’s disappearance, but treated well in trade for his ability to make ammunition for the Saviors.

Dwight looks positively freaked in the promo and sneak peak below when he realizes that Fat Joey is dead and his pet dog is missing. Can’t say I am sad to see that. Dwight will set out in search of Daryl, either on his own or under orders from Negan. What concerns me here is that when Dwight is out searching, Daryl will be traveling back to the Hilltop. Will they come face to face, and who will have the upper hand if they do?

Sneak Peak of TWD 7×11 – Daryl Goes Missing

In the first half of the season, we had to see how far Rick had fallen, in order to appreciate what that group will go through in the back half. I think the same thing is happening with Negan and the Saviors. In 7A, the lower Rick’s group seemed to fall, the higher Negan’s rose and now its their turn to feel the heat. I can’t imagine how uncool Negan will think it is that Daryl is gone, Fat Joey is dead, and let’s not forget about Lucille and her new bullet scar and how he must still be feeling about that.

Let’s throw some fuel on that fire and assume that Dwight or any of the other Saviors don’t find Daryl. Would all that be enough to make him start acting out irrationally? If so, that would be a good opportunity for Rick to make some kind of move. The title really says it all – ‘Hostiles and Calamities’ – facing an enemy in a disastrous or adverse situation. A war is brewing. People will die, but I have no doubt that our group will be on the winning. They are, after all, the ones who live.

The Walking Dead 7×11 ‘Hostiles and Calamities’ airs on Sunday, February 26th at 9/8C on AMC.
