Episode Preview: The Walking Dead 7×13 “Bury Me Here”

This week on The Walking Dead, we venture back to The Kingdom and pick up with Morgan, Ezekiel, and Carol. Can I tell you how excited I am? No, seriously… when I saw the previews I did the Carlton dance in the privacy of my home office. I have no shame.

The Walking Dead

In my defense, anyone who reads my ramblings regularly about The Walking Dead knows that my love of Carol runs deep, so seeing her back in any capacity makes me happy. But, seeing her back being surly and bad ass killing walkers, as well as demanding stuff and thangs… color me giddy. You’ll see why Carol is headed to The Kingdom in the sneak peek below, and I can tell you that she doesn’t look happy.

Of course, there will be much more to this week’s episode entitled, “Bury Me Here.” I believe that being back in The Kingdom after Ezekiel turns Rick down will bring us the confrontation that has been building with the Saviors. This is what will prompt Ezekiel to join with Rick to fight Negan. Will Richard purposely escalate the very thick tension that is already there or will it be one of the Saviors that finally crossed the line (more than they already have mind you) that initiates the scuffle? I guess it ultimately doesn’t matter because it’s going to happen and I am pretty sure someone (*cough* Ben) is going to die.

No, I have no intel or spoilers. That’s just my gut feeling.

On last week’s ‘Talking Dead’ I saw a brief segment where someone brought up the point that we don’t really know what Negan knows about The Kingdom. We don’t know how many outposts he has, or how many similar deals there are. We can assume he knows about these deals, but to what extent? I’m going to believe that Ezekiel wants to keep Negan out at all costs, so his people aren’t harmed. How far is he willing to go to keep them safe? The way the meetings between Ezekiel’s group and this outpost of Saviors hasn’t been exactly friendly the last few times. The promo above shows that the next one goes even worse. So, what will it take for Ezekiel to join forces with Alexandria?

It just BETTER not be the death of Jerry. You hear me, Kirkman… NOT JERRY!

Sneak Peek – Carol + Street Sign = Dead Walkers

Carol’s return to the Kingdom to find Morgan, reinforces my belief that she didn’t buy Daryl’s line that everyone was ok. She did in that moment because she had too, or she just wanted to fool herself long enough to enjoy the reunion with her friend. In the clear light of day, she knows that there is something more going on. Despite maintaining her mantra of “leave me alone,” she can’t help but check up on her people. When she finds out what really happened to them, well, what she did to Terminus and the Wolves will look like playtime with Judith compared to what she’ll do to Negan.

I think her struggles with killing will still linger, but in the face of evil and true oppression, she’ll be able to access her inner Chuck Norris and do what needs to be done to take Negan and the Saviors out of the equation. I don’t know if she’ll ever go back to Alexandria again, but I’m damn sure she will pick up arms to fight when the war begins.
