My Thoughts on Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2

FTWDMy Thoughts on Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2

I loved the two-hour premiere but I still want to know, “Where is Ofelia?” I can honestly say the show kept my interest every second and I can’t wait to see what will happen next week.  There were so many great scenes and moments. Of course, as a Mom, this was the one that got me, when Madison was reunited with Nick.

Why is There Always a Crazy Person?

Troy Otto is a psychopath, in my humble opinion. He will probably end up being put down like a rabid animal by one of the Clarks. His father and brother get it; they know; but he is family and you protect family. If Madison had not gotten control of him and taken over the situation at the military compound, I’m sure they all would have been murdered. I’m so squeamish that I couldn’t look most of the time. A spoon jammed in the eye holding an eyeball is just gross! How did it affect you?

Meanwhile, Back at the Hotel

I kept waiting to see what was happening with Strand, left behind at the hotel. Our con-man was at his finest, professing to be a doctor to appease a mob outside the gates. It backfired on him though with a wonderful, but hilarious, result; he had to deliver a baby! As a baby can do, that tiny little being renewed hope in him. I wonder how long it will be before he finds the Clarks.

Another Ugly Cry Moment

I don’t have to say much about this; it is self-explanatory. It was so heartbreaking to lose Travis after they had all survived this long and got back together again. Alicia wanted to and tried to save him but he was too far gone. It took me completely by surprise; I never expected for one of the main characters to die! Travis was so likable and he had fought against becoming hardened against his fellow man. You were a good guy, Travis; we’ll miss you, but we’ll never forget you.

Welcome to Broke Jaw Ranch, home of Jeremiah, Jake, and Troy Otto, and their Survivalist community. Jeremiah is a tough, old coot. He’s trained, outfitted, and prepared for the fall of democracy; just not for the hordes of dead people walking around. He is the one that was shooting at Ofelia at the end of Season 2. So, is Ofelia at the ranch, maybe as a prisoner? Did he shoot her? Hopefully, we’ll have those answers soon. Right now our Clark family is safe, as long as they follow his rules. How long that will last is anyone’s guess. Madison will do whatever it takes to keep her children safe, including killing every last Otto standing.

Until Next Week

There was so much I didn’t even write about; the episodes were jam-packed with great moments. Travis in the pit with the walkers, the helicopter being shot at by unknowns and crash landing, the death of Luciana, watch them for yourself to see. Then leave me a message and tell me what you thought about the show. Did you like it? Hate it? Meh? Or contact me on Twitter @sassypoo. I hope you loved it as much as I did and you’ll be watching along with me this Sunday night on AMC at 9/8C.

I'm from a very rural area in SW Mississippi. I'm Mom to one grown son and a little Maltese (see profile picture). I came late to The Walking Dead but instantly fell in love with the series and Daryl. I binge-watched the first four and a half seasons to catch up before it came back on in January, 2015. Now I'm hopelessly hooked. I also watch Fear the Walking Dead and The Talking Dead. I love blogging and interviewing the cast members and cosplayers. I believe everyone deserves recognition for their contribution to the success of TWD and FTWD, no matter how small.
