Season 8 EW Exclusive Photo: The Walking Dead’s Carol & Daryl Together Again!
Hiatus is taking forever, but these helps ease the wait just a *smidge*. I’m sure by now you’ve seen the photo of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) shared by Entertainment Weekly from The Walking Dead‘s upcoming season 8. It single-handedly made my day!
If you have followed this blog for any amount of time you know my undying love for the friendship #Caryl shares. Knowing that they’ll be sharing more screen time together this season doesn’t make this hellish wait any better, but maybe whatever footage we see emerge from SDCC next week will be enough to tide us over til October.
“Caryl” Reunited in Season 8
Scott Gimple tells EW that Daryl and Carol aren’t the only reuniting of characters in season 8. In fact, he says that they will be building a lot of these new friendships and pairings we saw in The Walking Dead‘s season 7 finale.
“The season finale last year, seeing all the characters together interacting as one, was thrilling. It was exciting to see all these configurations of characters we hadn’t seen before. Even Aaron merely giving Jerry an apple felt satisfying.” Season 8 will continue that trajectory in a major way. “This is that times a million,” says Gimple of what’s to come. “Though it would be cool if the season began with just everybody giving each other apples. I’d be down with that.” He pauses. “But it’s not that.”
Be on the lookout for our remote coverage of The Walking Dead at San Diego Comic-Con starting next week, Thursday, July 20th through Sunday, July 23rd!
