The Walking Dead’s Win at the 2014 People’s Choice Awards!
Waking up to the news that my favorite show won a PCA Award was pretty awesome. But finding out that The Walking Dead won TWO awards?!? Even better! Wednesday night’s award show, which aired on CBS and took place at the legendary Nokia Theater, was abuzz with familiar faces and some really great talent!
And the Winner Is…
Picking up the award for Favorite Cable TV Drama was a great win for The Walking Dead! Especially when you consider the competition. Going up against shows like “Downton Abbey”, “Pretty Little Liars“, “Sons of Anarchy” and “White Collar” makes the win even sweeter!
However, the fact that TWD came out on top of the rest isn’t surprising. The award that did leave me smiling in pleasant surprise was that Andrew Lincoln won for Favorite TV Anti-Hero. There are so many characters of that ilk on TV these days, I am so very happy for Andrew that the title went to him! His competition was no joke either – Dexter Morgan “Dexter”, Jaime Lannister “Game of Thrones“, Norman Bates “Bates Motel” and Walter White “Breaking Bad”. I really thought Bryan Cryanston had this award in the bag considering his amazing run as cancer-stricken chemistry teacher turned meth king pin, Walter White.
If you are familiar with the format of the People’s Choice Awards, you know that a lot of the awards are either revealed by a message at the bottom of the screen or handed to the winner on the red carpet. Unfortunately, TWD’s win was the latter, so we didn’t get that moment of having the whole cast on stage to accept. But, of course, Norman was there (as he was a presenter that evening) and accepted the award on behalf of the show. Here’s two videos of Norman Reedus. One accepting the award and the other on the Red Carpet holding that PCA up for the photographers.
